Utopias are a collective endeavor even in a hyper-personalized society. Great things can be created individually, but who wants to dance to the revolution alone? Many things are conceivable and even more so in a group, but with practice come challenges: In addition to conflicts of interest, negotiation blockades, power games, lengthy decision-making processes, misunderstandings, hierarchies and expectations, it is also institutional structures, the relic of the (male) genius, as well as questions of control and responsibility that repeatedly call the idea of the collective into question.
The artists and dancers Anna Sougy + Léa Tissot-Laura, hearhere collective, Hum-sar, Nona Krach and Stigmergie - well-rehearsed and newly founded collectives from France, Switzerland and Pakistan - do not let themselves be distracted by this. For over seven months, they have lived and worked at the Dogo Residenz. From November 11-25, 2023, as part of the annual exhibition "Dogo Totale - im Kollektiv" in the Alte Turnhalle Lichtensteig, they will show what happens when we join forces and ally to move forward together.
